How to ask for a power song

There are many reasons why you want to know a song of power. By singing it you connect to the spirit of the song and the power which it represents becomes you. When you sing it, it makes you stronger and fills you with strength. I encourage you to experiment to see where the song can be used. It it feels right then your doing it right, if not then don’t do it anymore.

A song of power is an entity of its own, it has a soul and as such it is very much alive. Once you sing it it starts to feel like it sings it self and then you know it’s a real power song! But a word of caution. If it feels like the song is only meant for you, then don’t sing the song for someone else. If you want to share your song then just ask for another one! See to it that you are alone or you might want to do it with other people also searching for a personal power song. If you are a group then remember that each song is meant for you personally, you all should set out to get your own song. So it might sound a little loud in the end..

Now stand up and close your eyes so you only can see the outline of the things around you. It is preferred that it is dark in the room or your surroundings. If you have a rattle then begin rattling at a slow steady rhythm. Later on you might feel that you want to change rhythm and then please feel free to do so.

Bend your knees a little bit just to make sure your comfortable and not tense. Open your mouth a little as you were about to start speaking. When your ready start making sounds with your mouth and throat without judging, just to see what feels right. Invite the song to come and let it sing through you when it’s ready. It can take a little while but it will come to you. Once you feel the urge to sing then sing! Don’t hold back and don’t overdo it, let it come naturally! It it only naturally that it starts out small and then grows on its own.

A power song can sound like anything. Often it has only a few syllables and doesn’t even sound like a normal word. At least not a word in English. It is often repeated over and over again and feels easy and powerful to sing.

Once the power song is singing you then continue to sing it for a while. Dance if you want to and keep rattling. When you feel that you are done then sit down and remain quiet until everyone are finished.
